BRAZIL ADRENALINE RUSH
Hundreds and
thousands of soccer-crazed fans have been getting the adrenaline rush before
and since the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil football tournament has started in
Brazil. The tremendous culture of football caught people’s attention from every
angle of the world including students. This is what some of the University of
Johannesburg students had to say about their favourite teams and players in the
214 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
§ Banele
Mbuyisa Corporate Communications 1st year student: ‘I am so in love
with Germany, Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller are the best players for me, simply
because they know how to kill the opposing team.’
§ Laurel Majola
and Ntsoaki Mokotjo Logistics Final Year students: ‘Our favourite Soccer World
Cup teams of all times are Spain and the United States of America. And the best
players from the two teams are Andres Iniesta, Gerald Pique, David Villa, Xavi
Hernandez and Clint Dempsey. Reason being they have experience in the football
and they good at what they do, no matter what.’
§ Jabulani
Khoza: ‘Spain is the best team ever and my favourite players of all times are
Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez, best midfielders in the world. Ask anyone
about the Midfielders of Spain, they’ll tell you.’
§ Tsholofelo
Mokgohlwa Final year Public Relations and Communication student: ‘My favourite
team in the World Cup is Brazil and my favourite player is Neymar da Silva
Santos because the guy is so cute and very good with football and he’s known as
an excellent player globally.’
