Connect ZA Project Coordinator vacancy
A vacancy of Connect ZA Project Coordinator has arisen in the Arts Department, British Council SA. Incumbent to work with the Connect UK ZA team in SA.

Specific duties will include: 

- financial accounting and planning for each project, using the following tools: 

-SAP financial reports to verify charges and identify/correct mis-charges/omissions promptly, as part of risk control procedure 

-SAP financial planning/forecasting functions to ensure that up-to-date forecasts of project expenditure are maintained and that budgets are properly and accurately managed 

-monthly cash flow estimates which accurately reflect project expenditure requirements over the next month or two 

-raising or approving purchase orders for operational expenditure items 

- project planning, monitoring and evaluation, using the following tools: 

-project logic models (“two whats and a why”) 

-Gantt charts to reflect planned activity 

-scorecard instruments (audience forecasts and actuals, quality of service questionnaires; entry of data on SAP) 

-outcomes evaluation monitoring 

- delivering audience, quality and income outputs against agreed targets for each project 

- managing relationships with project partners and representing the project to other external stakeholders; maintaining contact details on database 

- attending arts events and regular engagement with the arts sector in South Africa 

- soliciting partnership funding against specified income targets 

- ensuring that all project activity reflects key equal opportunities and diversity issues 

- marketing and communicating projects to external audiences via web, blog, press releases, social media, etc. 

- working with online communities and digital projects

Basic salary is R13 681.00 and 13th cheque, med aid and provident fund.

This is a fixed term contract, 2 years.

This is an employment equity position and or disabled position.

JOBURG THEATRE IS LOOKING TO EMPLOY A SENIOR TICKETING SALESPERSON
This is a new position and considered vital in Joburg Theatre’s continuous efforts to build audiences. The successful applicant will be a proven and passionate salesperson, with an excellent track record of initiating new sales within a company.  It will be necessary to provide documented proof of the applicant’s track record in this regard.  Experience of sales in an entertainment field would be preferential, but not essential.  Applicants would be expected to bring an existing personal data base of potential clients to this position, as well as source new clients.

The position will attract a basic fixed salary, but the salesperson will need to supplement his/her salary with the commission receivable from ticket sales achieved.  

The successful applicant will be pro-active and not require micro-management, but will be expected to be fully accountable to the Head of Department for his/her time management. Cold-calling as well as personal interactions with clients will be required.

An excellent command of the English language, good computer literacy and an ability to meet – and surpass – targets is essential. Own transportation is required.

The position is available immediately. The initial contract will be offered for a six-month period only. Any expectancy of further renewal must be based on actual sales results within the initial six month period.

Joburg Theatre is looking to employ a Clerk to join the theatre’s VIP Ticketing Department. 

This employee would be responsible for processing sales for group bookers and corporate clients, handling of incoming telephone bookings and enquiries from the general public; as well as growing group bookings & corporate sales. 

The ideal employee will be able to manipulate and follow-up on data in a CRM environment. Some cold calling will be required. 

The successful applicant will be pro-active and not require micro-management. An excellent command of the English language, good computer literacy and an ability to meet targets is essential. In addition he/she must posses the ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions and work under pressure.
