Book Review - The Real Meal Revolution

The Book - The Real Meal Revolution
Written by - Prof Tim Noakes, Sally-Ann Creed, Jonno Proudfoot and David Grier
Photography - Craig Fraser
(Quivertree Publications)

This is indeed an interesting food, recipe and diet book.

I know I can hear you already. Oh gosh not another revolutionary diet.  Give it a try first before you turn it down.  Features some wonderful photography by Craig Fraser.

The book is written by quite a mixture of characters.  You have a scientist (Prof Tim Noakes) then a Nutritionist (Sally-Ann Creed) and add two chef-athletes (Jonno Proudfoot and David Grier.)

So what is the book about?  Well part recipe book, part lifestyle change and even have a look at it if you are looking for that new diet.

You have to get used to some interesting phrases such as 'banting' don't even ask me what that is, read the book to find out.

Some of the interesting recipe's that caught my eye were:

  • A Fermented Pickles Recipe
  • Kale with Chorizo and Eggs
  • Blueberry and Cream Cheese Hotcakes
  • There take on a Chicken Tikka Masala
  • Spicy Bacon Nuts
  • Chocolate Fat Shake
Features an introduction by Gary Player.

Look out for the websites in the bibliography section.  Well worth a visit.
